Raising Awareness of Awesome Manufactured Homes – How You Can Help!

Let’s start with the bad news: It’s 2021, and manufactured homes are sadly still fighting many of the “mobile home” stereotypes that have existed for the last 20 years.

This was revealed yet again in a recent Fannie Mae survey that found 75% of moderate-income homebuyers believe manufactured housing does not have the same quality as homes built the old-fashioned way.

What’s the Good News?

The good news is how easily false perceptions of manufactured homes vanish – all it takes is a photo or video of what today’s manufactured homes look like. The same survey found that when younger homebuyers saw some of these amazing models, like those Ma Williams offers through Silvercrest and Skyline Champion, their interest increased by 31%.

And when they find out how much money they can save, it can only further boost their enthusiasm. Excluding land cost, the average price of a manufactured home today is much lower than the cost for site-built homes, with financing available with as little as 3% down on a land-home, 30-year mortgage.

Love Your Manufactured Home? Help Spread the Word!

The challenge now is to continue to find ways to change a negative but inaccurate perception that stubbornly just won’t go away. Manufacturers and industry organizations are doing their part, but maybe the best way to finally get past this myth is with your help.

If you purchased a manufactured home, why not share some photos or video on your social media accounts? You’d be amazed at the impact that can result from one picture on Instagram. Post a video on Facebook, and you might spark an interesting discussion among your friends, many of whom may also be unaware that these homes no longer resemble trailers.

Manufactured housing is truly a win-win for families seeking quality affordable living and communities seeking increased property values. What do you love most about your manufactured home? Let us know on our Facebook page!
