Top 10 ‘Truths’ About Manufactured Homes

In the manufactured home industry, one of our highest priorities is separating truth from fiction.

Unfortunately, there are public perceptions about manufactured homes that are not accurate, but continue to come up almost every week when we speak to customers.

Recently, the research group CFED/Prosperity Now published an article about how manufactured homes may represent a solution to the ongoing affordable housing crisis in states like California. Anticipating some of the objections to this belief, the article was accompanied by a graphic listing the “Top 10 Truths” about manufactured housing.

It’s a piece that is definitely worth reading, and you can do so here. But here are some of the most important points:

  • Manufactured homes are not mobile (you’d be amazed at how many people still believe this!)
  • A significant number of Americans now live happily in manufactured homes (about 10% of the population, to be more precise)
  • Manufactured homes can appreciate in value (just like site-built homes!)

The article also stresses that today’s manufactured homes are well-designed and constructed. If you have any doubts about this, we invite you to speak with a Ma Williams representative – or just take a look around our website. You’ll find floor plans for homes of all sizes and types, as well as information about financing and loan options. Of course, we’ll be with you every step of the way, answering questions and making sure you are getting a home that your family will love, at terms that suit your budget and your specific needs.
