The Cities We Serve: Palm Springs/Palm Desert
Palm Springs and Palm Desert have two qualities in common: Both are located within the Coachella Valley in California’s Riverside County, and both are popular destinations for manufactured homes supplied by Ma Williams.
Palm Springs is clearly the more famous of the two, having been a resort destination for more than 100 years. During the golden age of Hollywood the most famous movie stars escaped to this small desert town, to not only relax but also to build homes and open businesses. You’ll see a lot of familiar names still attached to area resorts and amenities.
Palm Springs is still a playground for the rich and famous today. Golf, tennis, horseback riding and a variety of outdoor adventures bring in thousands of tourists every year.
Palm Desert, for a time, was one of California’s fastest-growing cities. The population now stands at nearly 50,000, though that number can nearly double in the winter months, when “snowbirds” from colder climates flock to the desert to escape the snow.
We know these destinations are great for tourists, but they are also wonderful places for full-time residents. The climate is perfect, the surroundings are beautiful, there are art galleries and restaurants and shopping that welcome local clientele, and the security and police protection that keeps visitors safe fulfills the same function for locals.
