Manufactured Home Fall Decor Tips

Throughout the Northeast and the Midwest, fall is a picturesque season of beautiful changing colors. But in Southern California, as a comedian once observed, it’s the time when malls replace the green plastic trees with the orange plastic trees.

We think autumn deserves more than that, even if our palm trees look the same in October as they do in June. Before you drag out the Christmas decorations, celebrate the harvest season with some festive fall projects. Here are a few simple, low-cost ideas.

The Mantel

Mantels are often the focal point of a room, especially during a holiday season. A mix of smaller pumpkins and squash, orange candles with a pumpkin or cinnamon scent, and a cornucopia or horn of plenty can fill this space with beauty and color.

The Dining Room or Dinner Table

Placemats with autumn colors and images are a great place to start, especially when accentuated by a harvest-colored bouquet centerpiece. A few autumn leaves scattered on the table also adds an appealing touch.

In the Office

A home office can get a seasonal makeover with a bowl of almonds or pinecones on the desk.

A Festive Entranceway

A front porch or entryway can set the perfect tone for an autumn-inspired home. Line the steps with pumpkins and other fall harvest foliage, and hang an autumn wreath on the front door.

Extra Blankets

The temperature in California doesn’t drop as severely in the fall as it does in other parts of the country, but cooler evenings offer a great excuse to bring out extra pillows and blankets, preferably in fall plaids and orange/red/brown colors.
