The Cities We Serve: Hemet

About one hundred years ago, there were just 177 people who called Hemet home. Today, there are more than 84,000 residents in this beauty spot in the San Jacinto Valley, many of them living in quality manufactured homes from Ma Williams.

Actually, we take particular pride every time we transport another beautiful home to Hemet, as manufactured homes played a significant role in the growth of the community. In the 1960s the first large-scale residential developments were retirement communities, created within what was then called mobile home parks.

You’ll still find them there today; as Hemet is know as one of the more affordable Southern California destinations. But these days there’s a lot more to do in Hemet than retire. There are museums and theaters, five beautiful parks, fishing in Diamond Valley, hiking trails, and great restaurants like Lemongrass and Abby’s Café. And for those relocating from Los Angeles, yes, you can still get your Double-Double from In-N-Out Burger, because there’s one in town.

If Hemet has a claim to fame, besides safe and clean country living, it would be Ramona, a play that has been performed there every year since 1923. It is the longest running outdoor play in the United States. Among the celebrities who have taken roles in the show over the years are Anne Archer, Raquel Welch and Victor Jory.

If you are ever in the market for a manufactured home in Hemet, let Ma Williams help you find the perfect home in the perfect location.
